Description:

This happens in Asianux Server 3 SP1 whith locale set as Simple Chinese,  when installing DB2(v9.1) in text mode.

In terminal:

[root@ip39-mtest-0 disk1]# ./db2_install

用原装产品的缺省目录是 /opt/ibm/db2/V9.1

It is then impossible to enter Chinese characters (and yes and no in English do not work either).

Solution:

Install DB2(v9.1) in graphic mode or copy paste the text you want to input from another file (CTRL-C, CTRL-V or Highlight selection and paste with mouse middle button).
